It's hard to turn down a lobster roll. We gave up trying to years ago, and instead have turned our efforts to finding New York's best.
No summertime food is as hotly debated as this simple sandwich, so Tasting Table is capitalizing on the seasonal feud by hosting our first-ever Lobster Roll Claw-Off.
On Tuesday, June 8, nine of the city's lobster leaders will serve up their best rolls at the Ramscale Penthouse, whose panoramic views of the Hudson River sunset will create the perfect setting. Guests will be able to try them all--and vote for their favorite--while they cool down with Hendrick's Gin cocktails, Heineken beer, New Zealand Wine and Maine Root sodas.
And since lobster rolls love company, Brooklyn Brine will be on hand to serve pickles, Deep River Snacks will put out buckets of chips and Steve's Authentic Key Lime Pies will add a sweet end to the competition.
Participating restaurants include BLT Fish, Catch of the Day, Ditch Plains, Ed's Chowder House, Fishtail by David Burke, Luke's Lobster, Lure Fishbar, Red Hook Lobster Pound and The Mermaid Oyster Bar (click here to read more about the featured restaurants and rolls).
Help us set the odds for this competition by clicking here to vote for the roll you think will be triumphant on June 8. When you vote, you can enter our sweepstakes to win two invitations to this invitation-only event.
