Liquid Fuel At 3 New Juice Bars | Chicago

Liquid nourishment at three new juice bars

Three juice bars in two months is a new record for our previously juice-deprived city.

Visit each for concoctions designed to balance and cleanse your system–and to taste remarkably good.

Peeled Coconut and other nut milks are made daily at this Lincoln Park spot, which uses organic fruits and vegetables and grows its own wheatgrass. Twelve-ounce juices are joined by nutrient-packed breakfast blends, small "booster shots" and 16-ounce smoothies, like the Love Note ($6.50), a combination of banana, dates, coconut milk and vanilla that's a dead ringer for banana bread. 1571 N. Sheffield Ave.; 312-266-7335 or peeledchicago.com

Earth's Healing Café An herbalist runs this new Ravenswood raw-vegan café, and its juices and smoothies are appropriately therapeutic. Drank too much last night? Try the Liver Harmony ($6), a blend of carrot, apple, dandelion, turmeric and burdock, which is said to be a powerful detoxifier. Two-ounce elixirs and herbal infusions are the newest additions to the menu. 1942 W. Montrose Ave.; 773-728-0598 or earthshealingcafe.com

Green Corner This Bucktown juice bar from sister yoga teachers Colleen and Elizabeth Murzyn has a concise menu of fruit-vegetable juices and yogurt-based smoothies, like the Wolverine ($8), with spinach, banana, pineapple, orange juice and yogurt. The Murzyns will also design juice cleanses tailored to individual needs. 1880 N. Damen Ave.; 773-292-4393 or greencornerchicago.com
