Tequila Ocho kicks off Ammo's Small-Batch Socials with a tasting of its 
2008 collection--plato, a?ejo and reposado--accompanied by chef Julia 
Wolfson's appetizers. Ocho specializes in single-estate tequilas, and, as 
with fine wine, the flavor varies by vintage. Tickets are $20 per person.

Taste an array of sake plus food from Rock'N Fish, Empress Pavilion, 
Shojin, Mishima and Roy's, among others. This year's event takes place in 
the 'CSI: The Experience' exhibit (thus the name, 'Mystery of Sake'), and 
proceeds benefit the Little Tokyo Service Center. Tickets are $70 at the

Long Live Cookbooks
The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books has an impressive culinary roster

Laurentiis are among those doing cooking demos and signing cookbooks.
