The 7 Best Doughnuts In Chicago And Where To Get Them | Chicago
Our favorite doughnuts in Chicago
Doughnut shops are (thankfully) the new cupcake bakeries. In no particular order, here are seven of our favorite hole-y masterpieces in Chicago.
Chocolate Glazed at Doughnut Vault ($3)
The sweets at this Brendan Sodikoff-backed doughnut shop are worth waiting in line for. The chocolate-glazed rarely runs out early, but follow the shop on Twitter to be extra careful.
Maple Bacon Long John at Glazed and Infused ($3)
Ridiculously decadent, it comes topped with an entire strip of maple-brushed bacon. But the extra protein makes it a complete breakfast, right?
Classic Old Fashioned at Do Rite ($2.50)
It's simple, it's satisfying and we think Do Rite does it best, with the perfect combo of crunchy exterior and moist inside.
Bacon Butterscotch at Endgrain ($3)
The selection of doughnuts at Endgrain is always changing, but if this one is on the menu, get it. It comes dripping with butterscotch sauce and is easily enough for two people to split.
Doughnut Ice Cream Sandwich at Firecakes ($5)
We almost wish this awesome summer treat wasn't so good, because then we'd try other things at this River North doughnut shop. But it is, so we won't.
S'mores Mini Donuts at Beaver's Coffee + Donuts ($3 for four)
So they don't have the satisfying hole in the middle, but sometimes you just want to pop a few minis. These have marshmallow sauce and graham cracker crumbs for that classic s'mores flavor.
Lemon-Pistachio Old Fashioned at Stan's Coffee and Donuts ($1.75)
The flavor of Stan's fluffy, moist lemon-pistachio doughnut is every bit as vibrant as its neon green hue. It's balanced–neither too lemon-y nor too nutty.
