Celebrate life (and jazz and Champagne) with Pol Roger
If limited-production, special-cuvée Champagne is your thing, then you know all about Pol Roger's much-lauded Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill (named for one of the producer's biggest fans).
Indeed, Pol Roger--one of France's grandest Champagne houses, founded in 1849--is well-known for their high-end bottles. But when they come to town next week, they want to reintroduce you to their nonvintage Brut Reserve "White Foil" Champagne.
Like all Pol Roger Champagne, each bottle of Brut Reserve is hand-riddled, meaning it's turned by hand while aging, rather than by a machine. This leads to a delicacy that fans say comes only from hand-turning, which is no longer standard procedure--even at the best-known houses.
Learn more about Pol Roger Champagne by visiting their importer, Frederick Wildman, online, then taste it for yourself on Oct. 27 when Pol Roger takes over Pops for Champagne and brings a jazz band with them. For $40, you'll enjoy unlimited pours of the Brut Reserve "White Foil," music from the Dan Effland Trio and small bites paired by the kitchen (if anyone knows how to pair food with bubbles, it's Pops).
To RSVP, e-mail polroger@frederickwildman.com, call Pops at 312-266-7677 or visit Pol Roger on Facebook.
