A Procrastinator’s Guide to the NYC Wine & Food Festival

This weekend, the New York City Wine & Food Festival invades the Meatpacking District with countless tastings, seminars and photo ops with Food Network stars. Most of the ticket-only events are sold out, but if you're a perpetual procrastinator (like us), don't fret: We've found some great, still-open events—so you can say you were there.

Thursday, 10/9
Meatpacking Eats
Morimoto, Fatty Crab, Scarpetta and other MePa restaurants are offering menus created exclusively for the weekend, with wine pairings from sponsoring producers. Participating restaurants here 

Friday, 10/10 (noon to 10 p.m.)
Meatpacking Uncorked
Area boutiques, such as Earnest Sewn, Helmut Lang and Stella McCartney, will pour wines, and musicians and performance artists will fill the streets. More information and tickets ($40) here

Saturday, 10/11 (10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.)
Southern Italian Wine Tasting
Master sommelier Laura DePasquale leads a tasting of Southern Italy's most exciting wine producers, including Planeta and Sella & Mosca. Del Posto, 85 10th Ave.; more information and tickets ($135) here

Sunday, 10/12 (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
Grand Tasting
This mega-tasting features food from restaurants like The Little Owl, Convivio and Boqueria, hundreds of wines and spirits on pour, and numerous specialty foods for snacking. Pier 54, 10th Ave. at 15th St.; more information and tickets ($150) here
