Bierkraft offers new reasons to stick around

Bierkraft has long been New York’s finest beer store, and now--thanks to a recently acquired liquor license--it’s become one of the city’s best beer bars, too.

Opt to drink on the premises and you’ll have full access to the store’s 1,000-plus selections. Come with friends and share a 64-ounce growler of the 13 frequently rotating drafts (such as Captain Lawrence Pumpkin Ale or Ithaca Brewing Cold Front saison), or try a solo pint of one of the three cask beers (including Oskar Blues’ Dry-Hopped Dale’s Pale Ale). Regardless of what you drink, your bill won’t spike any more than usual; enjoying your beer in-house costs the same as buying it to go.

And to accompany your brew, Bierkraft has cheese, charcuterie and a bevy of house-made sandwiches: Choose fillings such as mustard-rubbed wagyu roast beef and fresh mozzarella, which come on a ciabatta roll with house-made mayo.

Sadly, the hours of operation haven’t caught on to the rest of the store’s new barfly mentality; even on Friday and Saturday, last call comes before 9 p.m.
