Quick Tomato Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 (14-ounce) cans peeled plum tomatoes
  • ½ vegetable stock cube
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste
Directions
  1. Add the olive oil to a large saucepan and heat on a medium setting.
  2. Once the oil is hot, add the garlic and fry for about 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  3. Add all remaining ingredients and stir well to combine. Bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer and leave to cook for 10 minutes.
  4. Transfer the sauce to a food processor or blender and pulse until the desired consistency is achieved.
  5. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
