Ingredients
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup (2 sticks) butter
1 cup sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips
½ teaspoon flaky sea salt
Directions
Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the paper in a rectangle measuring approximately 9x12 inches.
Melt the butter with the sugar and salt over medium heat, stirring frequently.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then stir it occasionally for about 10 to 15 minutes until the mixture reaches 285 F on a candy thermometer.
Stir in the vanilla, then turn off the heat.
Pour the candy mixture over the pecans in an even layer.
Let the candy cool for 2 minutes, then sprinkle it with the chocolate chips.
Let the chocolate melt for 2 to 3 minutes, then spread it out over the toffee.
Sprinkle the sea salt over the chocolate.
Let the toffee cool for about 2 hours at room temperature or 1 hour in the refrigerator.
Break the toffee into bite-sized pieces before eating. Store in an air-tight container.
