Maple-Cinnamon Candied Bacon Recipe

Ingredients
  • 10 rashers smoked streaky bacon
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Black pepper, to taste
Directions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon and the maple syrup with a pinch or two of black pepper.
  3. Place strips of bacon onto a wire rack over a tinfoil-lined oven tray.
  4. Using a pastry brush, brush the maple cinnamon mixture onto the top of the bacon.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove the tray from the oven, turn the bacon over, and brush the other side with the maple syrup mixture.
  6. place the bacon in the oven and allow it to cook for another 10 to 15 minutes until it is colored and crisp. Depending on the type of bacon used, the cooking time will vary slightly.
  7. Once the bacon is done, remove it from the oven and allow it to cool completely. It will harden as it cools.
  8. Store the candied bacon in the fridge in an airtight container, and use within 4 days.
