Heat the cooking oil in a large, deep saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef to the pan, season with salt and pepper, and fry until browned.
Add the onion, celery, carrot, and garlic, and fry everything together for a few minutes.
Add the can of chopped tomatoes, tomato paste, and stock, then stir. Add the diced potatoes, corn, and a dash of Worcestershire sauce.
Allow the ingredients to simmer for 30 minutes, until the beef is tender and the potatoes are cooked through. Serve hot, topped with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
