1 1/2 pounds steak tips (sirloin or tri-tip works well)
2 tablespoons neutral cooking oil
Directions
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, bourbon, pineapple juice, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
Place the steak tips in a shallow dish or zip-top bag, and pour the marinade over them. Make sure the steak tips are evenly coated.
Cover the dish or seal the bag, and let the steak tips marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight for maximum flavor.
Remove the steak tips from the marinade, allowing any excess marinade to drip off.
Drizzle the cooking oil in a cast iron skillet set over medium-high heat.
Once the skillet is nice and hot, place the steak tips in the skillet, and cook for about 4-6 minutes per side, depending on your desired level of doneness.
While cooking, baste the steak tips with the remaining marinade to add flavor and create a caramelized glaze. Baste once or twice during the cooking process, turning the steak tips to ensure even basting.
Once the steak tips are cooked to your liking, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes.
Sprinkle fresh parsley on top of the steak tips for garnish, if desired.
