Ingredients
  • 1 (12-ounce) can croissant rolls
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 6 slices black forest ham
  • 3 ounces Gruyère cheese, shredded
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 teaspoons everything bagel seasoning
Directions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F and adjust an oven rack to the middle position.
  2. Roll out the croissant dough and tightly pinch the triangle seams closed to form one rectangle.
  3. Spread the mustard all over the dough.
  4. Layer the bottom half of the dough with the sliced ham.
  5. Sprinkle the ham evenly with the shredded Gruyère.
  6. Starting from the bottom corner, make a small, tight roll at the bottom of the rectangle.
  7. Completely roll the dough up into a log.
  8. Seam-side down, brush the dough with the beaten egg and sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning.
  9. With a knife or pastry cutter, cut the dough into 3 even pieces, each about 5 inches long.
  10. Then, cut two, 1-inch perpendicular slits into each roll.
  11. Transfer the logs to a parchment-lined baking sheet and curve each log into an arch to separate the "claws." Chill in the fridge for at least 15 minutes.
  12. Bake for 20–30 minutes, until puffed and nicely browned.
  13. Let rest for 5 minutes, then serve.
