Jalapeño Cheddar Waffles Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¼ cups yellow cornmeal
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 jalapeno, diced
Directions
  1. Preheat your waffle iron.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cornmeal, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  3. Mix in the milk, vegetable oil, and eggs until well-combined.
  4. Add the cheddar cheese and diced jalapeno to the batter and mix until incorporated.
  5. Spray your waffle iron with nonstick spray or wipe with oil if required.
  6. Pour about ⅔ cup of batter into your waffle maker and cook until golden brown.
  7. Repeat until all the batter has been used.
  8. Serve warm with the toppings of your choice.
