Ingredients
  • 1 gallon water
  • 1 cup kosher salt
  • Small handful of aromatics such as garlic, onions, bay leaves, peppercorns, fresh herbs and strips of orange or lemon zest
Directions
  1. In a large pot, combine half the water and the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Boil for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring until all the salt has evaporated. Remove from heat and add the remaining water and allow to cool completely before using.
