The Sou'Wester Root Beer Float Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 ounces whiskey, preferably Jack Daniels
  • 1 bottle chilled root beer, like Sprecher
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
Directions
  1. In a medium bowl, whip the heavy cream with the sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  2. To make the float: Pour the whiskey into a tall glass. Fill the glass with root beer to just below the top. Spoon some of the whipped cream on top, drizzle with the bitters and serve.
