Chocolate Gooey Butter Cake Recipe

Ingredients
1 box chocolate cake mix
1 stick unsalted butter, melted
4 eggs
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
4 cups powdered sugar
1 cup chocolate chips
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 F. Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
In a large bowl, add chocolate cake mix, 2 eggs, and melted butter. Mix until combined.
Pour this mixture into the baking dish and, using a silicone spatula, press down and spread evenly in the baking dish.
In the bowl of a stand mixer, add the cream cheese, cocoa powder, and 2 remaining eggs. Using the paddle attachment, beat until combined.
Add powdered sugar to the cream cheese mixture. Beat until combined.
Add chocolate chips to cream cheese mixture and stir well until combined.
Pour the cream cheese mixture on top of cake layer in baking dish. Using a silicone spatula, spread this mixture evenly on top.
Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool for about 15 minutes before serving.
