Servings:
12 brownies
Ingredients
  • ¾ cup butter, melted
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ⅔ cup mashed very ripe banana (approximately 2 bananas)
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
Directions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F and grease and line an 8x8-inch square pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and mashed banana.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
  4. Sift the flour mixture into the bowl with the wet ingredients, then gently fold them together until just combined.
  5. Add the chocolate chips and fold the batter again.
  6. Transfer the mixture to your prepared pan and bake for 30-40 minutes or until a skewer poked into the center of the brownies comes out with no wet batter (a few moist crumbs are okay).
  7. Leave the brownies in the pan for about 15 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Slice into 12 bars and serve.
