Southern Fried Cabbage Recipe

Ingredients
½ green cabbage head
4 slices bacon
3 tablespoons butter
2 garlic cloves, minced
½ white onion, diced
½ green bell pepper, diced
1 celery stick, diced
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon Creole seasoning
Directions
Remove the outer leaves of the cabbage.
Cut out the core, then slice the cabbage thinly.
Thinly slice the bacon into 1/2-inch pieces.
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the bacon and garlic. Cook for 2 minutes, or until the bacon starts to render fat and garlic turns fragrant.
Add the onion, bell pepper, and celery. Cook for 5 minutes.
Add the cabbage, salt, pepper, and Creole seasoning. Stir, to combine.
Cover and cook for 10 minutes.
Remove the lid and cook for another 5 minutes.
Serve while warm.
