Ingredients
  • 4 tablespoons (½ stick) butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
Directions
  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Gradually whisk in the flour.
  3. Cook this roux mixture for 2 minutes, whisking constantly.
  4. Gradually stir in the milk.
  5. Stir in the salt, pepper, and onion powder.
  6. Cook the gravy for several minutes, stirring, until slightly thickened.
  7. Serve immediately; refrigerate any leftovers in an airtight container.
