Homemade Philly Cheesesteak Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 ½ pounds flank steak
  • ¼ cup diced yellow onion
  • ¼ cup diced red pepper
  • ¼ cup diced yellow pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 slices Provolone cheese
  • 2 hoagie rolls
Directions
  1. Preheat your skillet on the stove over medium-high heat.
  2. Slice the flank steak into thin strips.
  3. Pour the vegetable oil into the skillet, then add the diced onion and peppers to the pan. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the veggies are slightly softened.
  4. Add the meat to the pan; season with salt.
  5. Cook the meat until it is browned all over. This should take about 5 minutes.
  6. Mix the beef strips and peppers in the skillet, and divide the mixture into two equal portions on opposite ends of the skillet.
  7. Place a slice of cheese onto each mixture.
  8. Once the cheese begins to melt, place each half into a split open hoagie roll.
  9. Serve immediately.
