Apple-Spice Chicken Brine Recipe

Ingredients
1 cup apple cider vinegar
½ gallon water
½ cup white sugar
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup salt
2 teaspoons black peppercorns
1 teaspoon whole cloves
3 cinnamon sticks
5 cups ice cubes
1 whole, uncooked chicken
Directions
Combine all of the ingredients, except for the ice cubes and chicken, in a large pot over medium heat.
Cook the mixture on medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar and salt have dissolved. This will take 3 minutes.
Remove the pot from the heat and add the ice cubes. Stir until they have melted.
Place your chicken in the pot. Make sure that the chicken is completely submerged.
Place it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
When you're ready to cook the chicken, remove it from the brine and pat it dry with paper towels. Proceed with your recipe as usual.
