A Dump Cake Is The Easy Way To Enjoy Rhubarb’s Sweet Flavors
BY DEB KAVIS
While rhubarb is extremely sour tasting in its raw form, there are various ways you can bring out its sweeter side. One of the easiest ways of doing so is using it in a dump cake.
A classic dump cake is made by dumping pre-made cake mix, fruit filling, butter, and sugar into a dish and baking until golden brown.
This works especially well with rhubarb because it takes the effort out of preparing rhubarb as you would for other cakes and pastries. You don't need to stew it down into a jam.
The recipe calls for either fresh or frozen sliced rhubarb stalks along with brown sugar and butter. In the process of baking, your rhubarb slices will tenderize and sweeten up.
