Chefs in Poland have long put their unique twist to the classic cheese and pasta combination by adding cottage cheese to the noodles, giving it a boost of delicious creamy flavor.
Traditional recipes use either potato dumplings or homemade noodles, but you can go for any type of pasta you have. Then, prepare your chosen noodle to a very al dente texture.
Then, drain it and stir in a mix of cottage cheese, sour cream, buttery onions, and salt and pepper. Smaller curds build creamy dishes without distracting from the pasta's texture.
Finally, cook the mixture until everything is melded. You can further customize the pasta with chicken broth, bacon bits, mushrooms, crispy fried onions, or breadcrumbs.
