Casa Enrique Is NYC's Least Expensive Michelin Restaurant
BY MICHELLE WELSCH
Michelin-starred restaurants may have a reputation as expensive and exclusive, but NYC’s Casa Enrique shatters this stereotype with affordable, delicious meals.
Casa Enrique was opened in 2012 by Chef Cosme Aguilar, who grew up with his mother’s cooking in Chiapas, Mexico before becoming a chef in New York City.
The cozy Long Island City restaurant serves flavorful Mexican recipes like brisket tacos and enchilada platters, with prices starting at $16 for tacos up to $38 for carne asada.
The Michelin Guide says, “One can literally taste the regions and cities that Chef Cosme Aguilar's menu explores […] and many dishes honor his mother's memory.”
The restaurant welcomes walk-ins, but reservations can be made online. Don’t forget to leave room for delicious desserts like their pastel tres leches and chocolate pot de crème.
