Disneyland Desserts That Are Better Than Dole Whip
BY SARAH BISACCA
Churros
Aside from being the happiest place on earth, Disneyland is home to many delicious desserts other than their world-famous Dole Whip, like churros.
Almost as iconic as Dole Whip, churros are the perfect snack, from a classic cinnamon-sugar dusting to limited-time varieties like apple pie, s’mores, or pumpkin spice flavors.
Mickey Beignets
Alongside other themed treats, Disneyland serves Mickey-shaped beignets that are fluffy, fried to order, and dusted in a sweet coating of powdered sugar.
You can also find seasonal variations like peppermint, gingerbread, banana, and chocolate strawberry, or head to Tiana’s Palace for beignets with a lemon filling.
Matterhorn Macaroon
Living up to their name, the Matterhorn macaroons are oversized and shaped like the Matterhorn Bobsleds ride, complete with a white chocolate snowcap.
More akin to a sugar cookie packed with shredded coconut, the treat isn't a true coconut macaroon, but for $4, it’s one of the most delicious and affordable options available.
Grey Stuff Gâteau
Taking inspiration from the grey stuff in “Beauty and the Beast,” Grey Stuff Gâteau is much more delicious than the name implies.
Made of red velvet cake layered with raspberry jam, the dessert is coated with 'grey stuff,' aka cookies and cream mousse, and served on a buttery shortbread cookie.
Vintian Mineral Mousse
If you love Star Wars, you have to try the space-inspired treats like Vintian Mineral Mousse at Batuu-based quick-service spot Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo.
Resembling a pile of polished space rocks, the dessert consists of dark chocolate mousse, with a brûléed banana center and accents of strawberry mousse and vanilla Chantilly.
