Do This Before Putting Your Instant Pot Lid In The Dishwasher
By NIKKI OVERFELT CHIFALU
The Instant Pot is a great alternative for cooking meals in half the time, and you can make everything from chicken pot pie to desserts. Although Instant Pots are dishwasher safe (of course, not the part that plugs in), you must take the lid apart before you add it to your dishwashing load.
Before you wash it, you should disassemble the Instant Pot lid into three parts — the anti-block shield, float valve, and pressure-release knob, which is not removable on all models. The anti-block shield can be popped off and the float valve can be removed after taking off the silicon cap.
It's best to hand wash the small pieces, but you can put the lid itself in the dishwasher, just make sure to put it on the top rack. Lastly, make sure to remove and wash the sealing ring often since it can soak up odors; this can either be hand washed or put in the dishwasher.
