For A Restaurant Quality Side Dish Try Refrying Canned Beans
BY Claudia Alarcón
Although convenient, canned refried beans often lack the desired texture and flavor. Luckily, refrying canned whole beans with onion and spices can yield restaurant-like results.
To start, sauté some minced onion in a large frying pan. Once it starts getting fragrant and translucent, add in the whole beans and liquid from the can.
Once the beans heat up and thicken a bit, season them to your taste with salt and spices. Finally, use a potato masher to get the refried beans to your desired consistency.
