How Much You Should Expect To Pay When Dining At The French Laundry
By ELIZABETH BLASI
Chef Thomas Keller is behind the innovative and modern French cooking style at The French Laundry — a 3-Michelin star restaurant in the heart of Yountville, a picturesque neighborhood in Napa Valley, CA. If you’re lucky enough to get a reservation there, expect to pay an arm and a leg.
The French Laundry works as a chef's tasting menu, where each diner receives each course and food option on the menu as Chef Keller specifically curated it. His Napa Valley tasting menu consisting of nine courses runs at $350 per person, with a 20% tip already included in the bill.
Not included in your $350 dining fee are add-ons, like dining upgrades, table requests, or drinks — ranging from an $18 glass of Pinot Noir from the Sonoma Coast to a $5,500 bottle of champagne. However, per The New York Times, the unique and mesmerizing farm-to-table dining experience is worth trying.
