Lagavulin 16-Year Scotch Was Spotted At Costco For An Affordable Price
BY CASSIE WOMACK
From time to time, rare liquors pop up at Costco, and on August 21, a redditor spotted bottles of Lagavulin 16 selling for just $49.97 at the Waddell Road location in Arizona.
The average price of the 16-year single malt Scotch, which is considered Lagavulin's flagship bottle, is around $100. Its rich, peat-smoke flavor has made it a cult classic.
Distilled in oak casks on the Scottish island of Islay, the scotch's strong peat taste and hints of iodine may turn-off beginners, but it's a must-try for whisky connoisseurs.
