Make Flat-Top Cupcakes With One Easy Parchment Paper Hack
By STEPHANIE FRIEDMAN
Cupcakes often emerge from the oven with rounded, domed tops, which can cause icing and toppings to slide down the slopes and make decorating difficult.
The solution to this problem is to make sure the cupcakes wind up with flat tops. The easiest way to do this is to use parchment paper and a lined baking sheet.
Spread a thin, protective layer of frosting over the tops of your baked and cooled cupcakes. Then, flip them upside down and gently press them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Store the tray in the freezer for about 10 minutes. Once you pull them out, the cake and frosting will have deflated down into a flat, even surface that's perfect for decorations.
