19. Dragon Fruit
Two halves of a dragon fruit with the flesh exposed and a full dragon fruit piled on top
Dragon fruits, AKA pitaya, have a colorful, spiky exterior and watery flesh dotted with tiny black seeds on the inside. Unfortunately, the flesh has very little flavor to offer.

Dragonfruit definitely doesn't taste bad, and the crunch of the seeds adds a nice contrast to the flesh, but its lack of intensity puts it in the last place of our ranking.

18. Rambutan
A bowl piled with rambutans with three on top that have the skin peeled away to reveal white flesh
Rambutans are tiny pink fruits that look "hairy" due to their exterior spikes. This fruit has translucent white flesh with a lightly floral scent and a pleasant fruity flavor.

However, if you’re looking for something with a really intense, concentrated flavor, you’d be disappointed by rambutan, which has a juicier, more mild taste.

17. Durian

Some say durian tastes nutty or cheesy, while others say it tastes like dirty socks. If you ask us, it's a little bit of both, which is exactly what makes it so interesting.

Some of these infamously smelly fruits have fruitier flavors, while others have more funk. The durian is unique, but not dependable, so it's not our first choice to buy.

16. Avocado
Avocados have a lovely creaminess, but they’re pretty bland otherwise, and their very subtle vegetal flavor is better when paired with seasonings and other ingredients.
15. Banana
While we do enjoy the flavor of bananas, you have to be in the right mood to want one. The flavor is very strong and overwhelms virtually anything you try to pair with the fruit.
Bananas are still great for baking and desserts, so long as you don't mind your goods tasting overwhelmingly of banana, and they make for a quick, nutritious snack on the go.
