Target's Favorite Day Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream lists high fructose corn syrup as its third ingredient, yet there's no mention of actual vanilla beans.
Vividly Vanilla Deluxe Ice Cream from Kroger is sold at about half the price of other ice creams available at the store. Unfortunately, there's a reason for the low cost.
It has many ingredients, such as corn syrup and whey. Kroger's Vanilla Ice Cream also lacks the egg yolks and vanilla beans often used in high-quality brands.
Another Target brand, Market Pantry, is an affordable ice cream. However, the ice cream also features an extensive list of ingredients used to make it.
It's a lighter-calorie ice cream as it doesn't use cream, which results in a thinner, less creamy consistency. It doesn't list vanilla beans, only natural and artificial flavors.
The recipe uses milk, cream, plain sugar, and egg yolks, often found in high-quality ice cream. Unfortunately, it also has the low-quality sweetener corn syrup.
It has milk, cream, sugar, and egg yolks, but it also has corn syrup, whey, and a list of additives that aren't necessary. Vanilla beans are also not listed as an ingredient.
