Ranking Turkey Bacon Brands From Worst To Best

9. Butterball Original
Though Butterball strictly carries turkey products, their turkey bacon is disappointing. The package contains a lot of liquid and the slices are slimy.
These slices are delicate and thin, tearing easily when flipped; they look very processed. After cooking, they feel too chewy and the taste comes off as mild and bland.
8. Butterball Low Sodium
This Butterball Turkey Bacon is great for reducing sodium intake. It cooks up faster than the original but is too delicate and chewy with little flavor.
The lower sodium version contains many additives but is free from MSG, fillers, added hormones, and steroids, and is AHA-approved. It's also gluten-free and low on fat.
7. Oscar Mayer
Oscar Mayer's Turkey Bacon is one of the lower sodium brands, which is gluten-free and low in fat. Its semi-thick slices sizzle and offer a hearty bacon-like aroma.
However, the very processed appearance can be off-putting. Once it cools down for a few minutes after cooking, it develops the consistency of bacon with a nice crunch to it.
6. Good & Gather
Good & Gather serves nitrate-free, uncured turkey bacon. Their packaging is easy to open, and it doesn't contain much water.
The slices are thick and release plenty of juices while cooking. They offer a hearty but mild flavor with a perfect mouthfeel and a pleasant chewing experience.
5. Godshall's
Godshall's Maple Turkey Bacon requires a preheated pan rather than a non-heated one for cooking, so the bacon cooks faster and browns better than most other brands.
It has a good turkey flavor and the maple glaze makes the taste unique and more complex than its rivals. It's free of MSG and gluten and is sweet even with only 1 gram of sugar.
