Salt & Straw's New Ice Cream Series Brings In Fall With Loads Of Apple

Typically, summer is the time for cold, sweet treats while fall evokes warm, spiced fare, but Salt & Straw's fall menu combines the best of both seasons with its Apple Series.
Through the end of September, Salt & Straw is serving its Apple Series, which features five apple-themed flavors and a seasonal pumpkin spice waffle cone.
The series includes Caramel Apple, made of apple sherbert with caramel ribbons, and Apple Cider Donuts, with royal icing ice cream, cinnamon-vanilla caramel, and hunks of streusel.
There's also an Apple and Pumpkin Pie mashup — the apple half is a vanilla custard with apples and shortbread, while the pumpkin pie is mixed with brown sugar ice cream.
Black Currant Apple Cider turns Finnriver's limited-release hard cider, Autumn Blush, into a pâte de fruits candy mixed into an apple-and-black-currant infused sherbet.
Finally, there's the Green Apple Wasabi Sorbet. The juiced wasabi and green apple juice lend a light warmth to the sorbet, which is mixed with red and golden delicious apples.
