The Absolute Best Ways To Store Oranges
By ANNA STAROPOLI
Oranges have so many uses in both sweet or savory foods and drinks, and the juice, flesh, or peel of this fruit are sure to boost flavors and add zest. Oranges are usually bought in bulk, and even though these citruses have so many uses, you should still follow these tips to stop your produce from going bad.
You should store oranges inside the fridge in a well-ventilated, breathable bag. Try to store them in the crisper drawer of your fridge in mesh bags; the cooler temperature keeps the oranges fresh and the mesh material allows air to circulate, keeping your fruit as high-quality as possible.
It’s also best to store your oranges whole, so the peel can safeguard the interior fruit. However, not all is lost if you've already cut your oranges, as you can cover slices with plastic wrap and seal them in an airtight container, or freeze them for refreshing summer smoothies and other drinks and desserts.
