The Bowl Trick For Shatteringly Crisp Bacon In The Microwave
By MICHELLE WELSCH
Bacon can be cooked easily in a microwave, but this appliance doesn't always do the most even job. For truly crisp and crunchy bacon, try this tip that uses just a bowl and plate.
Start by turning a microwave-safe bowl upside down, then lay the strips of bacon on top and set the bowl on top of a plate, which will catch the bacon's grease as it cooks.
The bowl lifts up the bacon strips to expose them to a more even heat in the microwave. Though microwaves vary in terms of power, try cooking for one minute per piece of bacon.
If your cooked bacon still seems light in color or isn’t quite as crispy as you’d like, simply continue to microwave it in 30-second intervals until it’s the way you want it.
