The Brands Behind Your Favorite Kirkland Products At Costco
BY BRIANNE NEMIROFF
Chocolate
Kirkland Signature partners with Blommer Chocolate Company to source its chocolate for products like milk chocolate almonds, milk chocolate raisins, and chocolate chips.
The chocolate is sourced from West Africa's Ivory Coast, the world's top grower, which follows strict requirements for sustainability, social responsibility, and quality assurance.
Tuna
The Bumble Bee Seafood Company has been Costco's main tuna supplier since 2002. Canning seafood since 1899, it's a household name in the seafood category.
The company releases a yearly sustainability impact report to showcase the partnerships with organizations that reduce bycatch, restore ecosystems, and tackle plastic waste.
Jelly Beans
For its jelly bean product offering, Kirkland Signature partners with Jelly Belly, one of the most beloved candy companies in the U.S. with over 100 years of history.
Each jelly bean is still stamped with the Jelly Belly brand regardless of the co-branding. The recipe is kosher and fat-free, and every bite offers a hard shell with a soft center.
Green Tea
The Kirkland Signature green tea, priced at under $15, is produced by Ito En. It has 1,400 reviews on the Costco website, of which 1,225 are five-star reviews.
Ito En partners with the Japanese farming community via the Tea-Producing Region Development Project in order to preserve the craft of tea harvesting, ensuring highest quality.
Coffee Pods
The Kirkland Signature coffee pods are sourced from Green Mountain Coffee, the in-house coffee brand for Keurig, who is also the original creator of the coffee pods.
The current 120-count packaging is available in different varieties but are all made with 100% Arabica coffee. They're also certified fair trade, organic, and kosher.
