The Cheap NYC Sushi Spot Located In A Hotel With A Robot Dino
By JEN PENG
While "cheap" and "sushi" usually don’t go together very well, Eater New York recommends one affordable sushi spot at the Henn na Hotel New York in Midtown. It not only serves high-quality, inexpensive sushi, but you’ll also be greeted by a life-size T-rex robot that grunts and roars when you enter the hotel lobby.
Gosuke's offerings include the $35 Sushi Nami, which consists of seven pieces of sushi and one hand roll, and the $40 Sushi Joh, a variant that includes one more piece of sushi. The $90 sushi omakase comes with 10 pieces of sushi, a small dish, hand roll, and dessert, and the $100 sashimi omakase consists of 30 to 35 pieces of sashimi.
The hotel that Gosuke resides in is special, even beyond the animatronic T-rex. The Henn na Hotel New York is the first U.S. location associated with the Japanese Henn na brand, which has a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records as the first hotel to be staffed by robots, and some locations in Japan even use hologram characters.
