The Drink Angela Lansbury Credited To Her Long Life
By MATTHEW SPINA
The late Angela Lansbury left behind an iconic career that spanned eight decades, and she stayed committed to a healthy lifestyle even to the age of 96. She released a 1990 home workout video, “Positive Moves,” in which she talks about diet, exercise, and body positivity, and in 2018, she told Express which drink she recommends for longevity.
Reflecting on her life and career, Lansbury told Express reporters, “I certainly don't feel 93. I like a glass of wine and take a lot of vitamins — perhaps that keeps me going.” Wine may not be the first drink you'd think of in terms of health benefits, but a glass of red wine now and then is proven to have positive effects on the body and brain.
According to Real Simple, red wine is high in antioxidants and resveratrol, which can fight diseases, potentially improve heart health, boost memory, and even help regulate blood sugar. Too much alcohol consumption definitely has negative side effects, but Lansbury kept it in moderation, so perhaps a glass or two is the secret to a long, healthy life.
