The Frozen Potato Shortcut To Use For Delightful Mini Latkes
By EMILY BOYETTE
Latkes are traditional Jewish treats that take hard work to make, but if you don't mind using a shortcut, this convenient frozen potato product can cut your workload in half.
Tater tots are the perfect way to make near-instant small latkes from scratch. You can just press or smash the tots downward to perfectly mimic the flat shape of mini latkes.
To try this trick, par-cook the tater tots in an air fryer at 375 degrees F for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a flat surface and smash them down using a flat-bottomed glass.
Then, transfer your smashed “latkes” back to the air fryer and cook until golden brown. Don’t forget to finish them off with a sprinkling of sea salt before you dig in.
