The Genius Egg Salad Add-In Alton Brown Uses

There are quite a few tips and tricks to elevate egg salad, but one of the easiest, most flavorful tricks comes from chef Alton Brown, who likes to add crunchy bacon and bacon fat.
Crumbled bacon provides a crunch factor to contrast with the otherwise creamy dish and adds layers of smoky and meaty flavors, while the bacon fat amps up those flavors even more.
Brown's recipe calls for four slices of bacon and two teaspoons of bacon fat for every four servings, but you can add more of each ingredient to enhance the crunch or the flavor.
