The Hack For A Perfectly Cooked Pie Without A Pizza Oven
BY LUNA REGINA
Making pizza at home can be difficult, as a traditional oven doesn't get hot enough and takes too long to cook, resulting in an unchewable crust and dried-out toppings.
Avoid a sad pizza by taking a few extra steps. First, preheat your home oven to 400 F with your steel cookware of your choice inside, like a baking pan or oven tray.
Dust your pizza and preheated cookware with a generous amount of flour to avoid sticking. While some use parchment paper, flour is more efficient, as it withstands higher heat.
A key step is the oven rack position — the lowest oven position will allow the pizza to crisp nicely. Finish it under the broiler so the toppings become nicely caramelized.
