To amp up your egg salad to gourmet status, add shrimp, which breaks up the dish's monotonous feel while bulking it up and adding the right amount of flavor.
You can quickly sauté peeled and deveined shrimp before all the eggs are done boiling, or you can fold drained canned shrimp directly into the salad to save even more time.
Egg salad already has its own unique flavor, so you don't really need to do much with the shrimp. You can season with salt, pepper, or chili powder for a fiery punch.
