The Paper Plane Is A Deliciously Boozy Drink For Whiskey Lovers
BY BRIAN UDALL
If you're hoping to add a refreshing whiskey-based cocktail to your summer rotation, try the Paper Plane, an easy cocktail that packs a fruity, botanical punch.
Created in 2008 by Sam Ross from the revolutionary NYC cocktail bar Milk & Honey, the drink takes its name from M.I.A.'s hit song and might be garnished with a paper plane.
It's made of equal ¾ ounce measures of bourbon, Aperol, Amaro Nonino Quintessentia, and lemon juice to create a sunshiny, sweet, yet distinguished, flavor.
While the bourbon adds spiced sweetness, Aperol and lemon juice bring a citrusy dimension that's balanced by the bitter botanicals and warm spices of the Amaro Nonino.
