The Popeyes Side Dish That Isn't Worth Your Money

In our ranking of sides from Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, the red beans and rice took the bottom spot. With mushy, salty beans and overcooked rice, the dish left a lot to be desired.
We thought the dish overall had an "artificial chemical-esque flavor" rather than the sweet, earthy flavor you'd expect from simmering beans with a bit of pork.
Finally, Popeyes describes the rice it tops the beans with as "seasoned," which is a departure from the traditional addition of plain, simple steamed rice.
