The Pungent Raw Ingredient Included In Mussolini's Favorite Food
BY AUTUMN SWIERS
A renowned figure in Italy's history, Benito Mussolini called a simple chopped salad his most favorite dish that included only chopped raw garlic, fresh lemon juice, and olive oil.
Italian cuisine is known for cooking with garlic, but the dictator took this affinity to another level. His wife once told the family's cook that he used to eat a whole bowl of it.
Per U.K. news outlet the Express, his wife was reported as saying,"[...] I couldn't go anywhere near him after that. At night I'd [...] take refuge in one of the children's rooms."
