The Simplest Method For Making Steamed Asparagus In The Microwave
By CLARICE KNELLY
Steamed asparagus on a plate with lemons
With the help of just a damp paper towel, you can steam perfectly tender asparagus in the microwave that's ready to serve in a matter of minutes.
Asparagus spears being trimmed
The first step is to make sure the asparagus stalks are washed and cut. It's best to break off the bottoms of the stalks, since these ends are typically too tough to chew.
A sheet of paper towels being ripped from a roll of paper towels
Before cooking the asparagus, arrange four damp paper towels on top of one another. The paper towels should ideally hold about a quarter cup of water total.
Three rolls of paper towel on a kitchen counter
Wring any excess water out of the paper towels, then arrange the asparagus stalks over the towels. Roll the towels up with the asparagus inside so you end up with a small bundle.

Place the bundle in the microwave and cook on high for a few minutes. You can also put the stalks in a dish with a little water, cover it, and cook it on high for a few minutes.
