The Southern 24-Hour Dining Spot That Anthony Bourdain Loved
BY AUTUMN SWIERS
Late chef Anthony Bourdain visited the famed Waffle House during the Charleston, South Carolina, episode of his CNN series "Parts Unknown," and came out being its lifelong fan.
The 24-hour chain is known for its crave-able waffles and hash browns. It's a beauty as accessible as it is un-mess-with-able, as observed by Bourdain himself.
Bourdain noted, "It is [...] an irony-free zone where everything is beautiful and nothing hurts [...] It never closes. It is always, always faithful, always there — for you."
His company for the visit, chef and restaurateur Sean Brock, also shared that his love for Waffle house started in childhood, as patrons could see the staff as they cooked.
