This Is Who Really Makes Kirkland Tequila
By MOLLY HARRIS
Costco members know there are some top-notch finds among the Kirkland brand liquor bottles. Although priced at $20, the quality of Kirkland Tequila makes one wonder if it is made by the same distilleries as the iconic high-end brands.
Costco is actually known for defaulting, or at least taking inspiration from some of the most popular brands of liquor in the drink industry to make their own spirits. Kirkland tequila is created by Fabrica de Tequilas Finos, a distillery in Jalisco, Mexico, that also makes Cielo Tequila.
Kirkland tequila is made from the highest quality, hand-picked Agave plants which results in amazing tequila that is well worth the price. Even though the Kirkland Tequila Anejo is an affordable bottle, the tequila is aged for more than a full year in oak barrels to reach the Anjeo status before bottling.
